Nidan
Vincent Garcia began training in karate on October 21, 1991 at the age
11. He trained at Worthen Karate Academy under Sensei Diana Worthen
in Wado Shinzen-Kai Karate. In 1996, Sensei Diana Worthen retired and
passed her school down to her two senior students, Darrin Free and Brody
Burns. In 1998, Nidan Garcia earned his black belt along with Nidan
Free, under Tom Seargent, the head instructor of the Wado-Shinzen Kai.
In the AAU Junior Olympics in 1998, Nidan Garcia won a bronze medal
in kata. In '99 AAU Nationals, Nidan Garcia earned a silver medal in
kumite. Also in 1999, Nidan Garcia was invited to be on the Junior World
team and compete in the World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. Nidan
Garcia won a bronze medal in kata.
Nidan Garcia taught the credited Karate, Self-defense, and kickboxing
courses at Collin County Community College from 1999-2003, and is currently
the Children's Program Director for the Academy of Classical Karate-do.
He is an instructor at the Academy of Classical Karate-do.
Nidan Garcia earned his bachelors degree in psychology at the University
of Texas at Dallas, and Masters Degree in Professional Counseling from
Argosy University, Dallas TX. He is currently employed with Garland
ISD as a Behavioral Adjustment Elementary school teacher, working with
the emotionally disturbed children. He has earned his Licensed Professional
Counselor (LPC-I), and he is also working as an admissions therapist
at Timberlawn Psychiatric Hospital.
Nidan Garcia plans on furthering his education with a Doctorate in
Clinical Psychology and to be a criminal profiler.
